This prevents calcium buildup on the heater, which will lead to inefficient heat transfer. It is the vibration of ozone being sucked through the Mazzi Injector. Leave the cover on the spa to retain as much heat as possible. Make sure your filter with the gray knob has been cleaned within the last four weeks by soaking in BEAR STRIP FILTER CLEANER and that the filter is not older than 18 months, unless it is a Tri-X filter. In this case you need to soak the filter if it has been more than three months, if less than three months, please run your filter through the rinse cycle on your dishwasher with NO DISHSOAP and NO DRYING CYCLE. You can also install the new type of heater, which has a Power Down Reset system. Kind of cool system, if you ask me. But in any event, you would then need to rewire the relay which controls the heater, and you will have to run a 30Amp, 220Volt, GFI-protected circuit to run just the heater. The rest of the spa still runs on 110volt, just as it does now. It's a lot of work, and if done wrong, could be dangerous. I would recommend that you simply keep a real good cover on the spa, set the temp and enjoy it. HTH And after using the spa a few days, maybe the 110 volt won't be so bad.
